For the Benalmádena (Puerto Marina) option, if you’re staying in the city centre, at Despedidas Costa del Sol we’ll arrange a return coach journey for an additional charge.
What music and shows are on offer with each option?
On the Málaga Centro catamaran, you’ll be treated to a live set from a resident DJ playing the season’s biggest hits, so you can dance in comfort and style. At the Benalmádena macro boat party, the show is even more intense: it includes a DJ, raucous on-board entertainment, a professional photographer and live performances by a saxophonist and a percussionist.
What happens if a member of the group is late for boarding?
Both boats run to a strict timetable. The port authorities require the group to arrive at the boarding areas 30 minutes before departure. If your group is late, the catamaran will set sail without you. Once the boat has left the quay, in accordance with safety regulations, it will not return to pick anyone up and the cost of the tickets will be forfeited. Please be on time!
Are you allowed to wear a fancy dress costume during the party on the boat?
Under municipal regulations at the ports of Málaga and Benalmádena, it is strictly forbidden to walk along the quays or queue for entry whilst wearing fancy dress or carrying erotic or attention-grabbing accessories. The solution is simple: keep your fancy dress costumes in your rucksacks and, once the boat has set sail and you’re out at sea, you can put them on in full and let your hair down. When you disembark, you’ll need to take your fancy dress off again.
Can you bring your own food or drink on board?
No. It is strictly forbidden to bring food or drink from outside onto the catamarans. Both boats have an excellent on-board bar service with very reasonable and affordable prices, where you can buy mixed drinks, beers, soft drinks, mojitos or bottles throughout the crossing.
What sort of clothes and shoes should we wear to the stag/hen party?
Ideally, you should bring comfortable summer clothing, a swimsuit, a towel and sun cream. Footwear is very important for your safety on deck: high heels are strictly forbidden on board to prevent falls or twisted ankles caused by the motion of the sea. Please wear flip-flops, flat sandals or trainers with rubber soles.
What happens if the weather’s bad, it’s raining or the sea’s choppy?
If it’s a cloudy day or there’s a light drizzle, the party goes ahead as normal, as the boats have spacious covered areas. In the unlikely event that the Harbour Master’s Office cancels the trips due to stormy weather or safety concerns at sea, at Despedidas Costa del Sol we’ll immediately offer you the option to reschedule the activity for another day, swap it for another top experience on land, or receive a full refund for your boat tickets. Do both boat options include a stop for a swim in the sea?
Yes, provided that sea conditions and currents allow it, for the passengers’ safety. Both the Mundo Marino catamaran in Málaga and the large boat in Benalmádena anchor out at sea during the crossing so that groups can cool off, jump into the water and enjoy the floating nets on the Mediterranean.
How can we combine the boat trip with the evening dinner-and-show events?
